Most of these items can be diagnosed and replaced while the transmission is still in the vehicle. Transmission codes and sensor data on late-model vehicles are accessed through the OBD II diagnostic connector and the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) diagnostic gateway module. It may be necessary to also check these sensors.
