The machine will permit only a 15% charge of R-1234yf to enable the technician to use an electronic detector to pinpoint the leak. The benefit of R1234yf is simple. The new refrigerant lasts only 11 days in the atmosphere compared to 13 years for R134a.

The level system control module mounted in the trunk connects to the Sensor Electronic Control Module using a FlexRay data bus. For larger vehicles with longitudinally mounted engines, Audi named the platform Modularer Längs Baukasten or MLB.
