Our program consists of three levels, each requiring 240 hours of intensive training, covering mechanical and electrical aspects of automotive repair. When asked about his favourite part, Alberto shared, “I like the practical aspect of it, where you can actually go into the workshop and repair components of the vehicle.”

Out in the mechanical shop, the work is a mix of restoration projects being reassembled and a number of regular clients having their vehicles serviced. An old mechanical shop, long abandoned and repurposed for storage, was restored to its former glory last year in Albuquerque, N.M. With the help of enthusiastic students, Benavidez transformed it into a fully functional collision repair and mechanical workshop. Most of us love a good fixer-upper.
